For the next person

I’m Brian J. Porter, and when I think about what I hope to leave behind, I think about how I’ve made people feel.

Through my faith, in my relationship, with my children, and even with a stranger who knows me only in passing, I hope they remember that I cared. That I listened. That something I did helped lift them up.

I believe caring can stay with someone long after a moment has passed. One random act of kindness can change a life. And when that person carries kindness forward, it can reach people we will never meet.

Through the next person, we can build a legacy of hope, dreams, and care.

Those who came before us helped build the world we know today. Now, through our own hearts, our choices, and the things we create, we help shape what comes next. I hope to leave a little more understanding behind—and, wherever I can, a smoother path for someone else.

My faith is part of that hope. When I think of our Lord and Savior as a carpenter, I think about what it means to build. I may not know how to build a home or a chair, but through compassion, I hope I can still lift those around me up.

Why that matters to Waymorrow

Sometimes we know what we mean, but struggle to say it. Our thoughts stumble. The words come out differently from the picture in our minds. We ask for help, and somewhere along the way, what matters most gets lost in translation.

I don’t want difficulty finding the words to stand between someone and the help they’re looking for.

My hope for Waymorrow is that you can bring your ideas as they are. You don’t have to have everything figured out. I want it to help you find the words, ask when something is unclear, and understand the vision you’re trying to share.

As you discover new possibilities, I hope you feel heard. I hope the answers help you move forward, rather than leave you chasing what you needed in the first place.

Sometimes we all need a little navigation. But your vision should still belong to you.

That principle, and my care for the next person, are why I want to keep building Waymorrow.

There is still work ahead. My hope is that the care I put into this project will be felt by the people who use it—and that something useful from their experience will find its way to someone else.
